We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering to join our data engineering team, which is building a massive open-source data storage and ingestion platform to support the entire Rokt ecosystem.

About the Role:
  • Design and scale complex data systems built on open-source technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Iceberg, Trino, etc.
  • Bespoke solutions will be built using those open source technologies as a hands-on engineer, cutting production-level code
  • Solve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity as an individual contributor
  • Proactively identify and propose improvements to the current system architecture that emphasizes performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Act as both an engineer and system architect, constantly researching and developing new theories and ways of working

We're seeking a strong software engineer with experience working with large-scale data systems, ideally with extensive experience running Apache Iceberg, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, Trino, and similar open-source platforms. You'll have solid experience using Go, Python, or Scala and familiarity working with complex, distributed systems and cloud-based infrastructure, including stateful services on Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, AWS, and/or GCP.

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$235,000 per year, including superannuation, plus an employee equity plan grant & world-class benefits.
