Job Summary

As a key member of our Engines business unit, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of risk and opportunity management strategies to ensure the safe and rapid development of innovative engines and propulsion systems for space applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks and tools to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with engine development and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into all aspects of engine development, from design to launch.
  • Analyze and report on risk trends and patterns to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk-informed decision-making processes to drive strategic program planning.
  • Develop and maintain risk management dashboards and reports to provide visibility into risk posture and trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • 10+ years of system development/integration experience, preferably in aerospace or complicated technical systems.
  • Proven track record of successful risk management leadership in complex, high-profile aerospace projects.
  • Expertise in risk management standards, methodologies, and state-of-the-art tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and mentor team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with program or project management.
  • Expertise with state-of-the-art risk management tools and software.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulatory requirements and standards for space missions.

Blue Origin offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $141,600-$207,680, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
