Job Title: Fisheries Resource Specialist
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate stakeholder engagement, including fishery working groups, to support the management of fisheries through policy changes and guidelines.
- Translate scientific information and fishery assessments for stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategy development and implementation for effective fisheries resource management in accordance with relevant policies and government priorities.
- Support policy work, contributing to the development and implementation of legislative and non-regulatory options aligned with the government's agenda.
- Prepare high-quality project plans, reports, briefing notes, and other written documentation on fishery-related issues for diverse audiences.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, peers, staff, clients, researchers, and government agencies to develop advice and recommendations for managing Queensland's fisheries resources.
- Represent Fisheries at fishery working groups, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Foster a professional environment promoting commitment, ethical behavior, skills development, growth, and continuous improvement.
Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills. Excellent translation and writing abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and manage multiple projects.
