About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Planner to join our commercial team in the defence sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating and cost planning for large, complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to review the developing design and provide cost planning advice.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the design and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide budget-informed direction to design consultants to facilitate the design development process.
  • Explore and propose innovative value engineering and design options.
  • Identify and submit head contract variations to the client.
  • Undertake quantity verification analysis to ensure current scope does not exceed contractual scope.
  • Develop the project budget-to-build in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years industry experience in similar positions.
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Quantity Surveying preferable.
  • Advanced experience in estimating, cost planning, risk identification, and value engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to review the detail of a developing design and influence design outcomes.
  • Sound technical construction knowledge.
