Urgent Care Nurse Position
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Casual Urgent Care Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our healthcare service, you will be responsible for ensuring all patients presenting to our Urgent Care Service are identified as appropriate, triaged promptly, and provided with high-quality care in collaboration with medical practitioners.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your clinical skills, work in a fast-paced environment, and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing triage of all patients presenting to Urgent Care
- Act promptly on any triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or deterioration
- Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners
- Ensure patients achieve desired clinical outcomes
- Provide essential health education to patients
- Complete all documentation accurately and promptly
Requirements
- AHPRA Registered Nurse qualification
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Working with Children Check and National Police Check required
- Previous experience in triage within an emergency department, remote nursing, or ICU preferred
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team
