We are looking for a suitably qualified leader to join our team located in Adelaide, Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and management for the Australia Photochromics team with alignment with global teams, product management, marketing, and operations.
  • Guide the Australia Photochromics team to become a strategic partner for marketing and operations and deliver breakthrough solutions.
  • Participate actively in the international cross-functional organizations at the company.
  • Liaise with investigation and development entities in the Government and superior institutes.
  • Provide technical direction to suppliers, supported by purchasing department.
  • Responsible for overseeing the local photochromics development of processes and products.
  • Ensure correct development and implementation according to the strategy, project plans, and timelines.
  • Ensure appropriate APQP follow-up for new product and process development.
  • Coordinate Photochromics resources to provide solutions for new products and processes.
  • Manage the qualification and validation of new products and processes.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Organize project portfolio cost savings and contributions.
  • Coordinate T&I Engineers to support global sites.
  • Prepare and lead projects related to process improvement and introduction of New Products into production.
  • Function as a communication link between the Global Engineering teams in Germany, Australia, Mexico & China.
  • Manage project timelines, track schedules, and provide regular written and verbal project updates.
  • Assign project tasks to team members and allocate resources where needed, aligned with the priorities.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, industrial, electronics, or mechanical-related engineering/science discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years working experience in engineering management, and 5 years in leadership roles, and 3 years of project management.
  • Experience with engineering principles associated with manufacturing, research, and development, new products, and process introduction.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean, and project management education.
  • Experience working with resins, coatings, materials, and plastic injection.
  • Optics knowledge desirable.
  • Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Available for flexible work hours for international collaboration and meetings.
  • Availability and willingness for international travel, as required.
