Mobility and Exercise Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mobility and Exercise Support Specialist at Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT). This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per fortnight, with flexible days and no weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of our Physiotherapist to deliver exercise, reablement, and wellness programs for our residents.
- Implement resident treatment plans, including one-on-one therapy, exercise classes, and group sessions.
- Apply therapeutic techniques, such as heat, cold, or massage therapies, to support resident care.
- Motivate residents to achieve their treatment goals and objectives.
- Document resident treatments, changes in condition, and communicate with the Physiotherapist or Registered Nurse as needed.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality care and support.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (specialising in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
- Experience in physiotherapy assistance.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support safe and effective exercise within the aging population.
- A warm, friendly, and empathic approach with a passion for aged care.
- Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and complete activities as delegated by the supervising Physiotherapist/Allied Health Professional.
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination and current flu vaccination.
- NDIS check.
- Commitment to quality, best practice, and environmental safety.
