Job Overview

This is an entry-level position that involves protecting underground infrastructure and ensuring public safety. The job requires a strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

  • The successful candidate will visit active job sites to observe digging activities and help ensure safety rules are followed.
  • They will work directly with homeowners, contractors, and utility crews to support safe digging practices.
  • Key to this role is learning to identify and mark underground utility lines using provided tools and technology.
  • In addition, they will assist with verifying and updating utility line markings as needed.
  • Keeping records of site visits, conversations, and activities will be a vital part of this role.
  • Supporting regular checks to ensure markings are accurate and safety procedures are being followed is another important aspect of the job.
  • Maintenance of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle with basic upkeep is also required.
  • Responding to job site requests or supporting the team during time-sensitive situations is essential.
  • Being an active part of our safety-first culture by working closely with teammates and learning best practices is crucial.
What You Bring to the Role:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn are essential qualities for this role.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are also necessary.
  • The ability to work independently in the field, problem-solve, and adapt to changing conditions on job sites is critical.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Familiarity with 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices is preferred but training will be provided.
