This role offers the opportunity to lead a new premium wine brand in Australia, focusing on high-quality Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills and Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of winemaking operations, including production planning, harvesting, and bottling. They will also be responsible for managing the estate's vineyards, ensuring optimal yields and quality.

  • Tertiary qualification in Oenology
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Wine sensory & quality analysis training, such as AWAC or Len Evans Scholar
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Proactive and energetic approach

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have a valid forklift licence. They should also be willing to travel occasionally and work extended hours when required.

The new winery will feature cutting-edge technology, including automatic sorting systems and temperature-controlled fermentation tanks. The facility will be designed to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

The estate vineyard in Piccadilly Valley has 1.68 Ha of Chardonnay vines, with an additional 0.95 Ha of clones to be planted soon. The Cabernet blend is produced with fruit purchased from two McLaren Vale vineyards using organic and biodynamic practices.
