Sustainability Expert for Mining and Energy Projects

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environmental Consultant to support our services to the mining and future energy sector. You will be part of a highly successful team responsible for consulting on project permitting and approvals, while networking with ERM's global teams to share best practices across industries.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and/or support a wide variety of mining projects or future energy projects related to capital project development, environmental permitting, mine closure planning/decommissioning, and associated management plans.
- Collaborate with other ERM national and global practitioners to execute projects, participate on teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals from multiple offices around the global ERM organisation.
- Develop technical skills, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making skills.
- Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with ERM's policies and processes.
- When required, direct and monitor project management activities related to projects, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor of Science in environmental science or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant mining and/or energy industry experience, including terrestrial based environmental approvals/permitting and/or management. Consulting industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience leading the environmental approval and permitting process for major capital projects (i.e., new mines or expansions, hydrogen and renewable energy developments).
- Strong knowledge of capital project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
- Experience conducting third-party reviews against capital project planning, industry best practice, regulatory requirements, and corporate standards.
As a Senior Environmental Consultant at ERM, you can expect:
