Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Closure Expert to join our team at DRD Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to lead the creation and execution of mine closure plans for renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience. You will be responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparent and effective communication throughout the closure planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of mine closure plans and associated duties for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, traditional owners, pastoralists, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Manage consultant partners to deliver mine closure plans, overseeing contracting, budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Use your knowledge of environmental and heritage risks and management to influence design teams and minimize closure risk and liability.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations and expectations related to mine closure and renewable energy projects, ensuring all activities are fully compliant.
  • Identify potential risks associated with closure activities and develop robust risk management plans to address them.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory submissions, internal reviews, and stakeholder updates.

Requirements:

  • A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years in mine closure planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a project team.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Western Australian mining and environmental regulations.

Salary Estimate:

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
