We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our team of software developers in creating scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for building high-quality products, driving good engineering practices, and advocating modern software development methodologies.
About the RoleThe Engineering Manager will oversee the design, development, and implementation of our data platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of our users. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance the user experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of software developers in designing, developing, and implementing scalable data solutions.
- Drive good engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Advocate modern software development methodologies, such as agile and DevOps.
- Oversee the development and implementation of our data platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our users.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in software engineering, preferably with experience in Python and Golang.
- Experience running in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL.
- Excellent judgement about people, their motivations, abilities, developmental needs, and prospects for success.
- Proven ability to build high-quality, open-source software.
- Proven ability to drive good engineering practices around performance and quality.
- An open-minded attitude to new technologies and the drive to push the boundaries of what is possible.
