The Australian Government is seeking a Strategic Governance and Risk Professional to join the Net Zero Economy Authority, a new statutory agency established to empower regions, workers, and communities in Australia's transition to a net zero emissions economy.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Corporate Strategy and Services Branch, providing key services to the authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining key governance frameworks under Commonwealth legislation, including risk management, audit, freedom of information, privacy, probity, and confidentiality.

The role involves:

  • Administering the authority's risk management framework and assisting with the development of key artefacts such as enterprise risk registers, business continuity plans, and climate risk and opportunity reporting.
  • Coordinating freedom of information matters to ensure legislative requirements are met.
  • Supporting the management and administration of probity frameworks, including fraud and corruption control, integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
  • Coordinating the procurement of legal services by liaising with teams across the authority and legal service providers.

The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, strong communication, planning, and organisation skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads. They will work autonomously to manage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, contributing to the delivery of strategic corporate outcomes.
