The role of an ADF Rehabilitation Consultant involves applying clinical reasoning skills to support ADF personnel with physical and/or psychological injuries.

Taking a holistic care approach, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to support the journey from rehab to healing. Your tasks may include:

  • Performing assessments depending on your area of clinical expertise, such as functional capacity evaluations or worksite assessments
  • Collaborating with stakeholders including employees, medical specialists, treatment providers, and allied health professionals
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring rehabilitation plans

KPIs are based on service delivery outcomes, not billable hours. This genuine person-centred focus allows for effective goal setting.

A set working hour schedule means you can achieve a healthy WORK / LIFE balance – no overtime or outside work hours expected. Enjoy early starts and finishes: 7:30am - 3:30pm. You will be located at HMAS Stirling on Garden Island.

You will be supported and mentored through direct interaction and an extensive onboarding process (including ongoing shadowing) to build your technical knowledge and expertise.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current unrestricted registration or membership with relevant industry bodies (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA or AASW)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy, or Social Work
  • Strong clinical reasoning and ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for helping people rehabilitate
  • 12 months occupational rehabilitation experience is desirable

The estimated salary for this position is AU$90,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
