Perioperative Graduate Registered Nurse Program Opportunity

St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Perioperative Graduate Registered Nurse to join our team at our state-of-the-art Chermside location.
About the OpportunityThis is a fixed-term rotational position where you will work within two different specialty areas to develop your skills and become one of our outstanding clinicians. The program will commence in February 2025.
What Makes Our Graduate Program Stand OutWe are committed to your learning and development, and we ensure that you have dedicated Clinical Nurses (Education) assigned to you and your department. This means that you will have a Clinical Nurse (CN) who is invested and dedicated to your performance, giving you the best possible platform to launch your career from.
During the program, you will have three dedicated workshop days where you will be taken off the floor to attend. These workshops include Essential Perioperative Skills, Advanced Patient Assessment, and Managing the Deteriorating Patient. At the beginning of each rotation, you will be provided with extensive supernumerary time with a senior Registered Nurse to learn the specialized skill set.
You will also be supported with weekly theoretical learning and one-on-one catchups with the CN (education). As a group, you will also be provided regular debrief sessions to reflect on and share your experiences.
Our WardsWe have a variety of perioperative areas and specialties where you will grow your skill set, with the opportunities for two six-month rotations. Our specialty areas include Cardiac Catheter Lab, Scrub/Scout Surgical, Anaesthetics, Main Theatre Recovery, and Endoscopy.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive hourly rate and paid approved overtime. You will also have access to excellent salary packaging options, up to $15,990, Novated leasing, and an optional Meals and Entertainment card up to $2,650 per annum. You will receive free uniforms and training, and you will have the opportunity to work for the nation's largest not-for-profit health and aged care provider.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have the ability to gain Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to the program commencement. You will also need to have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, well-developed skills in communication, critical thinking, time management, and highly developed patient-centered and customer service skills.
Recent clinical placement experience in an acute hospital setting is highly desirable. You will also need to have motivation to be a highly skilled Perioperative Nurse.
RemunerationThe position of Graduate Registered Nurse, in addition to our competitive salary packaging options, is a Level 1, pay point 1, with a base remuneration of $ plus superannuation, shift penalties, and allowances.
