About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Cost Estimation Specialist to join our team in Brindabella Park, ACT. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading Defence and Government professional services provider.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering cost estimation related taskings and supporting the broader PM Team in project schedule management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing, defining and establishing cost estimation practices in accordance with Defence / CASG policies;
  • Managing and delivering cost estimation requirements for client projects;
  • Developing and providing schedule analysis reports to meet project requirements;
  • Supporting the Program Management Function team to centralise project controls activities managed throughout the program office including cost estimation, risk, lessons learnt and schedule development, maintenance and analysis;
  • Reviewing, refining, developing and retiring project controls artefacts to support the program office strategic and operational outcomes;
  • Mentoring and knowledge transferring project controls and reporting expertise across the broader team.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in cost estimation;
  • Demonstrated experience in the Defence Aviation Environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in the current One Defence Capability System;
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in complex stakeholder engagement;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Project etc.);
  • Familiarity with Defence Project Management and Scheduling tools (such as OPP);
  • Demonstrated experience in the CASG SPO environment.
