About the Role

Ventia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at our Anglo American Mine Site Camps in Middlemount, Moranbah, and Moura. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients
  • Manage and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety standards and regulations
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and stock levels to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Collaborate with our facilities maintenance team to ensure the kitchen is well-maintained and equipped with the necessary equipment and supplies
  • Participate in regular stock takes and inventory control activities to ensure accurate tracking of food and supplies

Requirements

  • Australian recognized Commercial Cookery qualification (Cert 3 minimum)
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in large commercial kitchens, preferably in a leadership or management role
  • Sound knowledge of food safety standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service
  • HACCP Level 2 certification (plus)
