Job Role Overview

As a Blood Collector, you will play a vital role in contributing to a customer-focused pathology collection service for inpatients and outpatients.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity that offers a range of benefits and opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to blood collection and haematological investigations as required.
  • Participate in all collection roles as required.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification for administration of medication (including intravenous medication administration).
  • Customer-focused approach with well-developed interpersonal and written/oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical staff.
  • Previous venepuncture experience; familiarity with pathology terminology and requirements; willingness to learn paediatric and neonatal blood collections.
