Electrical Engineering Role Overview

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. As a key member of our interdisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering medium to large EPC and EPCM projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects or assignments in support of a global business unit or staff group.
  • Design, develop, modify, and evaluate components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendors, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
  • Provide guidance to other electrical engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.
  • Interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
  • Assist project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and addressing issues during project execution.
  • Mentor and assist junior electrical team members.
  • Complete electrical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Provide technical inputs and evaluations in support of the procurement of electrical components, including pre-award activities and post-award support of equipment suppliers.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience.
