We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Approval Officer to join our team at Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our communities through the effective management of building approvals.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the building approval process, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and QFD policy.
- Provide public education and fire prevention advice to communities.
- Inspect building special fire services to ensure compliance with regulations and QFD policy.
- Provide professional advice and information to internal and external clients on Community Safety Operations matters.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Eligible to apply for, or hold a current Blue Card.
- Manual Medium Rigid (MRV) driver's licence as recognised by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
- Possess Building Fire Safety Level 3 qualifications or current equivalent.
- Hold the current position of Senior Firefighter with Station Officer qualifications or hold a Station Officer position; or be eligible for appointment as a Station Officer i.e. Leading Firefighter.
