
Administrative Assistant

This position is responsible for clerical, administrative and reception duties of the ward.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for staff, patients and visitors to the ward. They will play a key role in managing patient records, coordinating admissions and discharges, answering inquiries and providing administrative support to the unit.
- Obtain current and accurate registration information from patients on admission
- Complete Election for Admission forms (including private insurance and compensable) and ensure patient signs the form as appropriate
- Maintain i.PM (Patient Administration System) to ensure accurate and timely recording of patient and ward data
- Management of admission paperwork
- Managing unit supplies
- Supporting nursing team with clerical tasks
- Coordinate and book ambulance/transport services to facilitate discharges/patient transfers
- Timely and accurate completion of the discharge process procedure
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth workflow across the unit.

- A strong administrative skillset and/or experience in a clerical role; experience in a healthcare setting and/or busy environment is advantageous.
- IT proficiency and good working knowledge of Patient Administration Systems such as iPM and CPF. Computer literacy using the Microsoft suite of programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team of clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Well-developed time management and ability to demonstrate initiative.
