Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Town Planning Cadet to join our team. This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to launch your career in town planning and develop your skills in assessing planning applications, providing advice to developers and the public, and supporting the enforcement and development of planning controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in assessing planning applications to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and planning schemes.
  • Provide expert advice to developers and the public on planning matters, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and supported throughout the application process.
  • Support the development and implementation of planning policies and strategies that promote sustainable urban development and community planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You must be currently enrolled or prospective in a recognized town planning or equivalent course.
  • You should have a genuine interest in urban development and community planning, with a strong desire to contribute to the growth and development of our city.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and plans to diverse audiences.
  • You are able to work collaboratively in a team environment, building strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • You demonstrate a commitment to customer service and confidentiality, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • You have a basic knowledge of planning legislation and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and software.
  • You hold a current driver's licence and are willing to obtain a Police Check.
