Learn to Swim Program Officer

This role is responsible for coordinating the learn to swim and schools swimming program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and water safety, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and swimmers.

The Learn to Swim Program Officer will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and covering shifts as required
  • Training staff to deliver the learn to swim programs for toddlers, preschool, primary school, and junior levels
  • Assisting in the development and review of practices and policies to ensure the successful operation of the learn to swim programs
  • Administrative functions including placing children in classes, programming classes, and communicating information on classes to parents

The successful applicant will have a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification, experience teaching learn to swim for at least 3 years, and be able to develop learn to swim programs for schools and user groups. They will also have strong administrative skills and be able to produce financial and attendance reports.

This is a permanent part-time position with up to 38 hours per week based on a 7-day roster. The hours per week will be determined with the successful applicant. Ordinary hours worked on a Saturday attract a 25% loading, while Sunday attracts a 50% loading.
