Design Leadership Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of experienced architects and graduates in the design and delivery of major luxury residential and multi-residential projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and guiding the design direction, upholding and evolving the studio's ethos, and ensuring exceptional design standards across all output.

A key aspect of this role is leadership and mentorship, including supervising deliverables, enforcing high-quality design, and integrating sustainability into every project.

To be successful in this position, you will need to possess strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills, as well as a deep knowledge of software tools and building codes.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and guide the design direction of major luxury residential and multi-residential projects
  • Uphold and evolve the studio's ethos, balancing innovation, locality, durability, and elegance
  • Ensure exceptional design standards across all studio output
  • Lead and mentor design teams, from experienced architects to graduates
  • Interface with senior leadership, ensuring smooth collaboration between design, visualization, interiors and site management
  • Presentation design concepts to clients and articulate design rationale aligned with their vision and site context
  • Maintain cohesive communication across teams and with external consultants
  • Enforce high-quality design through detail orientation and material selections
  • Integrate sustainability and long-term resilience into every project

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture; registered architect status
  • QLD Board of Architect registration ideal
  • 10+ years in design leadership, preferably in high-end residential architecture
  • Demonstrated expertise in concept design and Subtropical Modernism or similar
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills
  • Deep knowledge of software tools (e.g. Revit, SketchUp) and building codes
