Family Law Solicitor/Lawyer Role

As a legal professional, you will provide culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence in Central Australia.

  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Representing clients in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters (occasional Family Law & Child Protection)
    • Working closely with support teams to deliver wrap-around care
    • Building relationships with communities and stakeholders
    • Travelling to remote areas for outreach and education

You will work in Alice Springs, providing legal services across the region.

About You

We are seeking a Solicitor/Lawyer who brings:

  • Eligibility for an NT legal practising certificate (restricted/unrestricted)
  • At least 1 year post-admission experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and DFSV issues
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel

Additional requirements: C Class Driver's Licence, Working with Children Clearance, and a clear Criminal History Check. Aboriginal language skills are highly valued (allowance available).
