About the Role

We are seeking a talented Electronics Engineer Graduate to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). As an Integrated Circuit Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex microelectronic systems for projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Integrated Circuits (ICs) in a wide range of technologies.
  • Develop sophisticated digital systems using Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
  • Provide application engineering and consultancy services for the latest design tools and Integrated Circuit design flows.
  • Design and develop CMOS Image Sensors using state-of-the-art microelectronics technologies.

Requirements

  • Achieved or be on course to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK at time of starting employment.
  • Have a minimum of three A-levels at grade C or above, one of which must be mathematics, or alternative qualifications of an equivalent level.
  • Have relevant university projects or coursework that demonstrates a wide coverage and good understanding of basic electronic circuits and semiconductor device fundamentals.
  • Enjoy solving challenging electronic engineering problems and have an analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Be a self-motivated team player with a strong drive to acquire new knowledge and keep skills updated in rapidly evolving semiconductor technologies.
  • Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and communicate relevant technical information to colleagues, project partners, and customers.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of basic electronic principles, an analytical approach to problem solving, and dedication to professional development in the continuously evolving and fast-moving world of integrated circuits.
