The Wellbeing Services Coordinator is a vital position at our organization, responsible for ensuring the holistic development, health, and wellbeing of students. This involves working closely with the Principal, school nurse, senior residential mentors, teachers, parents/carers, and community members to provide students with the support they need to reach their full potential.

This is a key role in maintaining high levels of pastoral care, strong community relationships, and a positive school environment characterized by high-expectations relationships. Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with external organizations to support individual students' and cohorts' wellbeing needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized wellbeing and care plans for each student, collaborating with the Principal and wider staff team.
  • Conduct assessments, where necessary, and liaise with external organizations for further assessments when required.
  • Assist the leadership team in applications for government funding to support individual students' needs.
  • Advise the Principal on complex student matters in a timely manner, including enrolment applications.
  • Participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process, accurately recording and maintaining evidence for students receiving adjustments.
  • Develop and nurture strong community links and trusting relationships with families through regular phone calls, home visits, community events, the reporting system, and other opportunities, supported by the wider staff team.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, conversations, and programs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and commitment to supporting Indigenous students' growth.
  • Proven ability to build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
  • High-level organizational, administrative, and communication skills, including accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with complex student needs, including students requiring adjustments under the NCCD, and respond using evidence-based approaches.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and individualized care planning, with the ability to liaise effectively with external providers.
  • Confidence in advocacy, collaboration, and professional practice in dynamic school and community contexts.
  • Qualifications in Adolescent Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
