We are seeking a skilled technical engineer to support experimental efforts and development within our laboratory in Brisbane, Australia.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be responsible for managing installation and maintenance of complex subsystems, including cryogenic setups and test equipment. They will work with measurement, design, and operations teams across all technical disciplines.
Responsibilities- Operate high-end lab equipment, including cryostats and vacuum systems.
- Support testing and characterization of RF components at cryogenic temperatures.
- Assemble and maintain cryogenic setups.
- Electro-optic experiment assembly, including into cryostats.
- Quality Control checks and data logging.
- Develop and execute best practice procedures.
- Fault finding, repair, and maintenance of lab hardware.
- At least 5 years' practical experience in a similar role within a scientific or advanced engineering environment.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience building and operating cryogenic equipment.
- Vacuum equipment assembly and test.
