Job Overview


The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Human Factors and Ergonomics division.


About the Role


This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with psychosocial-related workplace risks, including poor leadership, inadequate policies and procedures, work demands, gendered violence, bullying, suicide, and other hazards impacting workplace health and safety.


As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking complex investigations, representing the department in stakeholder forums, and providing expert advice on regulatory matters.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conducting thorough investigations into workplace incidents and hazards
  • Providing expert advice on regulatory matters related to psychosocial risks
  • Representing the department in state and national stakeholder forums
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to improve workplace health and safety

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A degree in a relevant field, such as law, engineering, or science
  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, investigation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide expert advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the department in high-level forums
  • Knowledge of psychosocial risks and their impact on workplace health and safety
