Position Overview

In response to an influx of dynamic transactions, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team. This role will be instrumental in addressing sustainability reporting obligations, delivering expert technical accounting guidance, and upholding AGL's comprehensive accounting policies in alignment with evolving standards. You will also play a key role in leading and contributing to various team initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sustainability reporting team to assess, plan, and implement controls and processes that ensure compliance with current and forthcoming ESG reporting standards.
  • Provide expert advice on intricate accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply AGL's suite of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain relevant as the organization evolves.
  • Contribute to the professional development and continuous learning of AGL's finance team.
  • Prepare and coordinate reports for the board that offer strategic insights into key judgments made by the group.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders at all levels across various business lines.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to streamline the audit process, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring timely and scope-compliant delivery.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in technical accounting with a strong grasp of consolidation accounting.
  • Proven experience in complex accounting issues such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with experience in consulting (Big 4 experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a talent for keeping stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Proactive, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative team player who shares knowledge and contributes to collective objectives.
