
Timber Centre Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient individual to join our team in the Timber Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and safely moving products within the yard, store or warehouse, while supporting the team in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
This role involves assisting customers directly, including transactional sales. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating a forklift with precision and care.
- Performing material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, loading and unloading.
- Handling inbound material receiving and allocation to store or warehouse.
- Maintaining general cleanliness of warehouse facilities, including sweeping floors.
- Loading vehicles for outgoing deliveries.
- Monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors when minimum stock levels are reached.
- Reporting all damage or loss of stock.
- Building product knowledge.
- Collaborating with other departments and work locations to fulfill customer orders.
- Completing work orders and receiving documents accurately.
- Ensuring a safe and clean work environment by utilizing personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Shown team player spirit.
- Prior experience with building materials is desirable but not essential.
- Able to lift/move heavy materials (up to 25kg) on occasion.
- A minimum of one year experience in a warehouse/yard position is desirable but not essential.
- Forklift experience is highly desired.
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
