Job Overview

This is a key role that requires mechanical isolations coordination expertise.

The selected candidate will work closely with Prime Contractors, Navy Engineering staff, and Contractors to ensure maintenance is conducted in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Confirm mechanical isolation requirements with system/equipment owners
  • Understand testing procedures and use testing equipment competently
  • Assess and approve activities where hazardous energy may be present and issue permits to work
  • Attend worksites to verify all isolations are complete
  • Manage electronic and manual danger tagging systems as per policy and procedure
  • Conduct inspections post de-isolation to ensure marine systems are returned to operational configuration
  • Attend Critical Risk meetings as the company representative
  • Liaise with clients to prioritise scheduling of isolations
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or higher
  • Construction white card
  • C class driver's licence
  • Desirable qualifications include RIIWHS202E, RIIRIS201E, MSMWHS201, MSMWHS217, MSMPER200, MSMPER300, and UETDRMP007
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 4 years' experience in a Marine Trade
  • Ability to self-regulate emotions to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to read people and groups accurately and respond constructively
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft 365

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Sydney and be willing to travel occasionally.
