We are seeking an experienced Chief Technical Operations Manager to join our team at Thales in Rockingham, Western Australia. This role will be responsible for the delivery of Engineering Services as outlined within the SCYLLA ISS Contract (Engineering Services Description).

About the Role:

  • Responsible for the delivery of Engineering Services including managing SCYLLA Engineering Tasks and Root Cause Analysis (RCA);
  • Conduct SCYLLA Engineering activities using CoA and Thales tools and processes;
  • Assess and manage project engineering risk through the assigned risk management tool;
  • Maintain safety in relation to the SCYLLA Product(s) being supported;
  • Undertake local engineering investigations;
  • Create and maintain internal documentation and contractual deliverables following Commonwealth and Thales processes.
  • Manage the performance / throughput of team members within the SCYLLA Engineering team.

About You:

  • You will have an Engineering qualification in Mechanical / Electronic / Mechatronic or related discipline;
  • Chartered Professional Engineers (CPEng) or equivalent to obtain CPEng;
  • Experience relating to engineering support for in-service products / assets;
  • Engineering Risk management and Defence Engineering Governance / Worthiness Requirements;
  • WHS Legislation and applicability to Engineering Activities;
  • People Leadership & Management Experience, in particular Engineering teams;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • Defence Protected Network (DPN) & associated tools (e.g. Objective) experience desirable.
