We're seeking an AUSLAN-fluent Support Worker to join our team in empowering individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing, located in one of our Vertical Villages.
- This is a social role where you'll help participants build confidence and independence by supporting them in daily routines, community activities, and accessing services.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build trust. Fluency in AUSLAN is essential for effective communication.
About the Position
As a Disability Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping participants:
- Develop life skills like budgeting, cooking, and planning
- Communicate effectively and confidently in their preferred language
- Navigate services, transport, or local supports
This is a part-time or casual role with consistent hours and flexibility, allowing you to work close to home. We're looking for someone who can commit to building meaningful relationships with our participants.
What You'll Need
- AUSLAN fluency (essential)
- Experience in disability, mental health, or community support
- Strong communication, patience, and trust-building skills
Certification in Disability or Individual Support is desirable but not essential. If you're passionate about empowering others, we'd love to hear from you.
