Electrical Design Position

We are seeking a skilled electrical designer to join our team and contribute to the development of underground and overhead networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality Level 3 electrical designs for various network configurations.
  • Collaborate with clients, councils, and authorities to ensure compliance and approvals.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data for design refinement.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation, including CAD drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of utilities, including Ausgrid, Essential Energy, and Endeavour Energy.
  • Evaluate designs against ASP Scheme requirements and relevant standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, Service and Installation Rules).
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet client and regulatory deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Provide technical support and advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • ASP Level 3 Accreditation with a relevant electricity distributor.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design within the ASP framework.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Strong understanding of local distribution network standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with GIS systems and digital design platforms.
  • Knowledge of NER (National Electricity Rules) and contestable works processes.
  • Familiarity with environmental and safety standards in infrastructure design.
