About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at SA Water. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide technical expertise and guidance on civil and pipeline engineering matters, focusing on water and wastewater infrastructure.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert support and high-level expertise in Civil and Pipeline engineering matters.
  • Offering technical guidance in Safety in Design (SiD) matters.
  • Maintaining compliance with corporate frameworks, adhering to all legal, regulatory, and organisational obligations.
  • Identifying and evaluating new technologies, driving innovation and best practice improvements in Civil engineering standards and practices.
  • Collaborating within the solutions team and across multidisciplinary teams to ensure engagement with key stakeholders and achieve desired engineering outcomes.
  • Supporting the review and update of technical standards and guidelines for Civil and Pipeline engineering, ensuring compliance and cost-effective fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Supporting the Engineering design/studies team for civil investigation.
  • Traveling to sites to assess engineering situations frequently.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Postgraduate qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Sound knowledge of Civil engineering procedures and practices.
  • Experience in the provision of investigation, concept, and detailed design of civil infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing complex and critical engineering investigations.
  • Knowledge to develop project-specific civil specifications.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia (EA) or in the process of obtaining chartership with EA is desirable.
  • A valid "drivers' licence" required.
