Support Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated teaching assistant to provide high-quality support to students in our learning environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers with the management of students and enhancement of student learning, supervising and assisting secondary students, and providing individual in-class and small group support.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong communication skills, be able to work well in a team, and have patience and empathy when working with students. You will also need to be reliable, flexible, and able to maintain confidentiality when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with the management of students and enhancement of student learning
  • Supervise and assist secondary students who have a reduced load and attend study periods
  • Provide individual in-class and small group support to students
  • Maintain daily note taking and administrative duties
  • Attend timetabled playground duties
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Education Support
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a secondary teacher aide or tutor
  • Experience working with students in a secondary school setting
  • Experience supporting students in Years 11 and 12 English, Maths, and Science classes
