Job Description: Portfolio Manager

As the VET Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of projects that strategically align VET qualifications with industry demands. Your responsibilities include engaging with internal and external teams, interpreting diverse viewpoints, and managing all phases of training product development. You'll lead project committees, provide secretarial support and policy guidance, handle stakeholder queries efficiently, and represent BuildSkills at conferences and workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the National Industry Engagement Team and Technical Committees to drive industry engagement and strategic planning
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and adaptability
  • Manage project portfolios from inception to delivery, ensuring outcomes meet key performance indicators
  • Represent BuildSkills at conferences and workshops, showcasing expertise in VET and project management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you'll require a proven background in the VET sector, with expertise in managing complex project portfolios. A Bachelor's or Diploma in VET, project management, or business is preferred, along with minimum 6 years' VET experience. You should possess a deep understanding of the Australian VET system and training package requirements, as well as strong relationship-building, data analysis, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and adaptability are essential, with the ability to travel nationally.
