Health Information Specialist Role

The Health Information Services department seeks motivated and skilled individuals to perform various administrative duties.

  • Scanning paper-based patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
  • Answering telephone enquiries.
  • Responding to information requests in accordance with the department's release of information guidelines.
  • Collecting, scanning and re-directing mail.
  • Performing general department administration duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting stakeholder needs.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to coordinate processes effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in similar roles.
  • Previous experience with Patient Administration Systems and Scanned Medical Records.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
