Industrial Compliance Officer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Compliance Officer to join our team at the Department of Justice. This is a key role in ensuring compliance with work health and safety and other administered legislative provisions across various industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough workplace inspections to identify non-compliances and provide guidance on how to achieve compliance.
- Provide expert advice and support on WHS requirements and safety management systems, including developing strategies for improvement.
- Lead complex investigations under legislation administered, utilizing sound investigative techniques, methodologies, and processes.
- Prepare high-quality written reports, correspondence, briefings, and submissions, including prosecution and coronial reports.
- Represent WorkSafe Tasmania at internal and external meetings, forums, and events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate programs, activities, and projects.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call roster, including weekends and nights as required.
- Engage in corporate learning and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Promote health, safety, equity, and diversity within the workplace.
- Model the Tasmanian State Service Code of Conduct and Principles.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A current Driver's Licence.
The Department of Justice offers a competitive salary package, comprising:
$83,425 - $115,175 per annum (plus superannuation)
