About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Optimization Specialist to join our Australia Operations team in Amazon's Fulfillment Network.


As a key member of our financial analysis team, you will partner closely with FC Leaders and Regional/Network leaders to drive strategic financial decision making, budgeting, and performance optimization across our growing fulfillment network.


Your primary responsibility will be to analyze financial data and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within individual FCs as well as across the broader fulfillment network.


You will develop and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts to support FC budgeting, headcount planning, and capital expenditure decisions.


In addition, you will collaborate with FC Controllers and Operations leaders to provide insightful financial reporting, variance analysis, and recommendations.


Responsibilities



  • Analyze financial data and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within individual FCs as well as across the broader fulfillment network
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts to support FC budgeting, headcount planning, and capital expenditure decisions
  • Collaborate with FC Controllers and Operations leaders to provide insightful financial reporting, variance analysis, and recommendations
  • Support network-level strategic planning by assessing financial implications of network design, capacity changes, and other operational initiatives
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of new processes, technologies, or business models for FC operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting, visibility, and decision support capabilities

About You


To succeed in this role, you will need experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.


You should have experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools, such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, and other financial systems, including Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.


A Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field is also required.


Amazon offers a competitive salary package of approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
