Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Education Program Coordinator to join our team at Geelong Botanic Gardens.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver high-quality environmental education programs that inspire and educate visitors of all ages. The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in teaching, education or a related discipline and a passion for plants and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver targeted education programs and resource kits that meet the needs of various age and skill levels.
  • Prepare and deliver educational programs and materials that capture students' imagination and communicate key messages to an audience.
  • Evaluate education and learning programs feedback, participate on project teams, and support the development of key partnerships.
  • Be the primary point of contact for enquiries and bookings, ensuring a positive, engaging, and timely customer experience for all customers.
  • Maintain spaces, materials, and resources used in the delivery of GBG programs to a high standard.
  • Work with staff to implement the Geelong Botanic Garden website and social media platforms.
Requirements
  • Experience in developing targeted education programs and resource kits.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills and experience in preparing and delivering educational programs and materials for various age and skill levels.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian and/or National curriculum and its framework.
  • Proficient and professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the role of botanic gardens and living plant collections.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
