Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Academic Officer to join our dynamic leadership team at Coomera State Special School. As a key member, you will be responsible for driving academic growth and supporting the development of teachers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement school-wide initiatives focused on improving student outcomes
  • Provide guidance and support to middle leaders, teachers, and support staff to enhance their knowledge and skills
  • Lead the implementation of Comprehensive Literacy and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) pedagogical frameworks
  • Foster relationships between students, staff, and the wider school community
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Deputy Principal or similar role, with a proven track record of leadership and management
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and implement evidence-based practices to drive school improvement
  • Experience in supporting students with complex communication needs using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
