Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert to join our team and support schools in effectively supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting leaders, teachers, and education assistants in schools to promote the Diocese of Armidale Core Catholic Principles and Values, provide advice on teaching and learning strategies, and collaborate with learning support personnel to respond to student needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To consult with teachers and provide advice about relevant teaching and learning strategies.
  • To advise on individual and group intervention and assist teachers with adjustments.
  • To collaborate with learning support personnel in response to student needs.
  • To provide professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • To support compliance requirements of the student support program.
  • To provide case management support and assistance to other agencies.
  • To work constructively as part of the Mission and Learning Team.
  • To engage in action research to support organizational directions.
  • To support schools in analyzing system and school data related to diverse learning needs.
  • To prepare reports on the progress of students with diverse learning needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised formal qualification in the field of education is essential.
  • Experience working in schools or with multidisciplinary teams is required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills are necessary.
  • Highly developed skills in the use of technology and assistive technology options are desired.
