About the Role

  • Content Creation and Editing

  • Media and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Assist in producing media content that influences government, ministers, and the public.
  • Relationship Building and Management
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, ministers, and the public.
  • Project Management and Coordination
    • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to manage and coordinate multiple projects and activities.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • More than two years' experience working in a media and/or strategic communications role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong strategic communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Sound judgement and an ability to work under pressure.
    • An ability to form strong and productive working relationships.
    • Ability to work as part of a small team, as well as across various project teams.
    • Ability to learn new IT systems quickly and efficiently.
    • Demonstrated personal drive and integrity while achieving results.
    • Ability to manage and prioritize competing issues and activities.
  • Eligibility
    • To be eligible for employment with the department, applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
    • An applicant's suitability for employment with Health will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
      • Satisfactory completion of an Australian Federal Police criminal history check.
      • Where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check.
      • Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required).
      • Providing evidence of qualifications.
