Strategic Communications Specialist

Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) is seeking a skilled Communications and Content Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our marketing and communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Marketing Manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive marketing plans aligned with company values, strategic direction, mission, and vision.
- Track, analyze, and prepare regular reports on marketing metrics to continually improve marketing efforts and drive results.
- Identify and prioritize key target audiences, develop effective messaging and content, and implement and analyze campaigns across a variety of communications channels.
- Work across departments within the organization, as well as with external vendors and partners, to produce marketing and social media content.
- Develop and execute communication materials in support of the strategic communications plan, including regular newsletter and bulletin content and social media posts.
- Support the development and execution of new communications initiatives.
- Maintain website and digital channels, producing content for and making regular updates to the company's external and internal facing websites to support the marketing and communications strategies.
- Assist in the selection, design, and administration of corporate and member merchandising materials.
- Maintain and update the online merchandise shop.
- Assist in the management and administration of marketing events, working with both internal and external stakeholders, and supporting both the Marketing and the Stakeholder and Partner Relations teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and respond quickly to customer needs.
- Ability to complete own work tasks under guidance, within set budgets, timeframes, and standards.
- Ability to apply computer applications that enable performance of more complex tasks.
- Experience working in defense will be highly regarded.
