Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Conservation Operations Field Officer to join our team.

">

This is a temporary full-time opportunity, located at Murwillumbah. As a Conservation Operations Field Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking various tasks, including maintenance of walking tracks and trails, weed and fire management activities, operating and maintaining minor plant and equipment, providing initial response to visitor enquiries, and performing works programs to ensure public access to maintained and safe recreational facilities.

You will also contribute to ensuring NPWS obligations and aims are met through the enhancement and preservation of natural and cultural heritage values of parks.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in carrying out duties with a low level of supervision, including manual handling, in accordance with safe working procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety Act.

You will also need to possess:

  • A current Australian Class C Driver's licence or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake all duties safely
  • Certification to operate a chainsaw and two-way radio
  • Ability to carry out frontline firefighting duties and support roles
