Job Description

Enhance the emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing of our residents as a compassionate care worker.

This rewarding role involves offering care, comfort and connection within our community at Victoria Park Nursing Home in Kalgoorlie.

Maintain appropriate boundaries and respect confidentiality while working with residents from diverse backgrounds.

Familiarise yourself with our pastoral care policies and procedures to deliver high-quality care.

Previous experience working in this field is preferred, but not essential.

  • Understand the policy and procedures of Pastoral Care at Southern Cross Care
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of the facility and residents
  • Record visits and submit monthly statistical returns to your manager.

  • Have developed skills in empathy, sensitivity and patience when working with residents
  • Respect the right of residents to confidentiality and privacy
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively on all levels both written and verbal.
  • Have the ability to work harmoniously with people from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
  • Be comfortable with the distinctly Catholic ethos of the facility.
  • Be flexible to work increased hours, if required.
