Palliative Care Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary:

  • Provide leadership and support to volunteer members of the Palliative Care Program.
  • Build upon the unique community ownership that the organisation enjoys within the Geelong community.
  • Develop innovative person-centred programs, staffed by volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Support: Provide guidance and support to volunteer members of the Palliative Care Program.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with the local community and foster partnerships to enhance the Palliative Care Program.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement innovative person-centred programs, staffed by volunteers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High-level written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of policy, standards and operational procedures within the palliative care sector.
  • Understanding of interpersonal support strategies and skills, as well as issues pertaining to palliative care.
  • Experience in program development, implementation and review.
  • Experience managing a diverse team of volunteers in a challenging environment.

About the Role:

The aim of this position is to provide leadership and support to volunteer members of the Palliative Care Program. You will build upon the unique community ownership that the organisation enjoys within the Geelong community and develop innovative person-centred programs, staffed by volunteers. You will also provide a resource to Palliative Care Team members and a referral agent for clients and carers.
