Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Category Supply Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and monitoring the supply strategic plan in relation to volumes, specifications, quality, assured supply, regional risk management, and regional supply to suit regional orders, stock management, and minimization of freight costs.

As a key member of our supply chain team, you will work closely with our strategic supply partners, manage relationships, and plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to sourcing and procurement of products needed to meet category DIFOT targets.

You will also work directly with the sales team to determine the most cost-effective distribution solution to customers, monitor and communicate stock levels internally to ensure rotation and product quality, research and provide recommendations on new or potential product lines or product line extensions, and support the New Product Development team to identify suitable products and ensure successful launches.

Additionally, you will manage seed/breeding companies and nurseries to ensure appropriate technical support is provided to selected growers and approved nurseries, continually improve quality on farm and GIFOTQ (Grown in Full on Time with Quality), and ensure efficient allocation and weekly balancing of returnable packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role in fresh produce is essential
  • Solid experience dealing and maintaining relationships with 3rd party growers
  • Business planning skills and execution capabilities to deliver customer expectations and specifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • A self-starter who is a team player; pro-active, persuasive, and flexible attitude
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or related discipline; preferred but not required
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to travel as required
